PRIZES & AWARDS

  • From all entries received, the judges will create a long list of fifty. Out of those longlisted, a first, second and third place will be selected.
  • Only the first placed winner receives a cash prize.
  • Those who are placed first, second and third will receive a free copy of the Blinkpot Award Ebook in which their works appear.
  • Entrants retain copyright, but will receive no proceeds from sales of any Blinkpot Award Ebooks in which their works may appear book: this revenue being used to create the winner’s pot for the next competition.
  • Longlisted entries have their titles and author names published on the site for announcement purposes.
  • First, second and third placed fictions are published in full on the Blinkpot website.
  • All longlisted entries are published in the relevant Blinkpot Flash Fiction Award Ebook.
RULES

  • Entrants may be of any nationality, but they must be aged 18 years or over.
  • The entry must be in English and must have been written by the person making the submission.
  • Entries must not have been previously published, or won a prize.
  • Entries can be on any theme or subject.
  • Authors retain full worldwide copyright throughout.
  • Maximum entry length is 100 words and minimum length 80. Title excluded.
  • Contractions (I'm, can't, ain't, etc.) will count as one word. 
  • Entries will not be returned.
  • No alterations can be made after entries have been received.
  • Only one submission per author is allowed.
  • Submission can only be made through the relevant page on the Blinkpot website.
  • The Blinkpot Flash Fiction Awards run biannually. The Spring Award typically opens 1st February, closes 28th February, with winners announced 10th March. The Autumn Award opens 1st August, closes 28th August, with winners announced 10th September.
Entry constitutes acceptance of all Blinkpot Flash Fiction Award rules. Entries that fail to comply with these rules will be disqualified. No correspondence can be entered into. Judges’ decisions are final.
